  New dub scam

  someone tell me if i'm making an ass out of myself and posting something that has already been discussed here and i missed it.....k ?.

  anyway.....the dubbers have a new deal goin on at least in my neighborhood.

  my wife had briefly mentioned some of it to me a few days ago, but i heard it firsthand working the other day where the dubs were working some apartments.. the dubs go door to door and say they are volunteers for the deaf community and are searching for people who are deaf.

  i found these two references very interesting.....i reflected on the mentality of the witnesses in my old congregations in janesville, wisconsin....i realised they weren't a 'happy' people because they had the "truth", they were in truth happy because of being all medicated (prozac).

  it was related to me this morning the society has instituted either a new or unofficial policy that congregations with attendance (not publisher) averages of less than 70 will be merged into the nearest congregation.

  i know of one elder who will inflate his cong.

  The Service Desk appoints Elders. It's pretty much a rubber stamp deal if they don't have a record of some kind of problem with you. The GB appoints Circuit Overseers.

  i know that the issue of the man being beheaded by the iraqis has been discussed already but they just played the sound of the beheading on talk radio (shawn hannity).

  this is absolutely horrible.....the sound of him screaming just makes me ill.

  Hannity gave considerable warning before he played the audio, and he's not the only one that has played it either so you can knock of the Hannity bashing. I think it's important that people understand just how horrible that this event was, that they also understand that this is not the first thing like this that's happened and it probably won't be the last. These people are evil. They were smiling, they enjoyed. And they'll do it to anyone in the US that they get a chance to kill. The despise and hate the liberals just as much as the conservatives, and they think they're weaker. I've lived and worked in the Middle East and have friends that are Middle Eastern and I have seen over and over again that the only thing that is respected is strength.

  Liberals like patio and six are willfully blind, they will make excuses for the perpetrators, regardless, and they will blame the US, regardless. They will seize any opportunity to condemn the US and the conservatives but in the end they'll expect to be protected by the same. They scurry under the cover of better people, and that includes civilians who are willing to go to Iraq and make a difference, who are willing to take a risk to make a profit. And if you think that makes them responsible for the butchery infllicted on them by terrorist scum then your political bigotry has stamped out your humanity.

  i have not been to the meeting in over two and a half years.

  you would think they would leave me alone.

  The only way you can sue is if you can demonstrate that they have violated their own procedures, or if they hold you up to public ridicule. Given what you've said about the chain of events I'd say you don't have any legal avenue. Oh, and public ridicule is not simply announcing you've been disfellowshipped. As far as appealing goes, failure to meet would be considered a sign that you were not repentant.
